All right, we’ve got a long weekend of disc reviewing ahead of us here at The Bits. But I wanted to jump in today with a bit of breaking news as well as some more new 4K cover artwork.

First that breaking news... Universal has just set Mamma Mia! The Movie for release on 4K Ultra HD on 5/1. High Dynamic Range will be HDR10 but the disc will feature DTS:X object based audio. Obviously, you’ll also get the Blu-ray (10th Anniversary Edition) too with all extras and a Digital Copy code. You can see the cover artwork below.

Something else I wanted to mention: It seems like a good bet that if Universal is including DTS:X on Mamma Mia! in 4K, the studio’s forthcoming Jurassic Park: 25th Anniversary Collection 4K titles could have it too. Some of the marketing artwork we’ve seen hints at it, but we’ll have to wait and see when Universal makes their official announcement to be sure. Fingers crossed. [Read on here...]

Also today, we’ve now gotten our hands on official 4K cover artwork from Warner Bros. for Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey. You can see it above left and also below. Street date is still TBA (though early word from retailers is now suggesting 5/1), but we do know that the package will also include BD and Digital Copy.

We also now have official Gladiator 4K cover artwork from Paramount, street date 5/15, also with BD and Digital Copy included. You can see that below as well.

One other quick note today: Mill Creek Entertainment has set Robert Klane’s Thank God it’s Friday (1978) for release on Blu-ray on 5/1.

All right, we’re going to get back to working on reviews for next week, so we’ll leave you with a look at all the latest 4K Ultra HD cover artwork we have for these big upcoming titles, with Amazon.com pre-order links if available. Braveheart still is TEMP artwork but all the rest are official. And Sony’s Fury and The Patriot still aren’t yet up for pre-order on Amazon (nor is Star Wars: The Last Jedi) but we’ll add those links as soon as they are...

Jurassic Park: 25th Anniversary Collection (4K Ultra HD Blu-ray) Gladiator (4K Ultra HD Blu-ray) 2001: A Space Odyssey (4K Ultra HD Blu-ray)

Braveheart (4K Ultra HD Blu-ray) Grease: 40th Anniversary Edition (4K Ultra HD Blu-ray) The Greatest Showman (4K Ultra HD Blu-ray)

See you back here on Monday! Stay tuned...
