Today’s update is a fairly quick one, as we’re working on more new reviews here at the site after finally catching up post Comic-Con.

Speaking of which, Tim has two for you today, including his thoughts on James Gunn’s Slither on Blu-ray from Scream Factory and also the long-awaited Batman: Mask of the Phantasm Blu-ray from the Warner Archive! Both discs are worth your time. And do keep in mind, the better Batman: Mask of the Phantasm sells on Blu-ray, the more likely it is that Warner will be encouraged to re-visit Batman: The Animated Series on the format.

Speaking of Warner Bros, we now have a possible street date (from retail sources) for Wonder Woman on Blu-ray Combo, Blu-ray 3D Combo, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD: 9/19. We’re awaiting official confirmation and expect the announcement from the studio any day now. [Read on here…]

Also today, Lionsgate has set It Comes at Night for release on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD on 9/12.

20th Century Fox Home Entertainment will release Vikings: Season 4, Volume 2 on Blu-ray and DVD on 10/3.

Kino Lorber has announced that they’re going to be releasing a new 50th Anniversary Special Edition of Norman Jewison’s The Thomas Crown Affair (1968) on Blu-ray and DVD in January 2018, mastered from a new 4K restoration.

Image Entertainment has set Bushwick, starring Dave Bautista and Brittany Snow, for release on Blu-ray on 10/24.

Acorn Media has set The Fall: Series 3 for Blu-ray and DVD release on 11/21.

Farther out into the future, BBC Home Entertainment will release Doctor Who Special: Twice Upon a Time on Blu-ray and DVD on 2/20/18.

And on the 4K Ultra HD front, look for Sony Pictures Home Entertainment to release Rob Reiner’s A Few Good Men and all three Men in Black films on the format in the months ahead according to our retail sources.

We’ll leave you with a look at more new Blu-ray and 4K cover artwork, including Sony’s Bridge on the River Kwai in 4K, which is now available for pre-order from Amazon by clicking on the cover...

The Bridge on the River Kwai (4K Ultra HD) Close Encounters of the Third Kind: 40th (4K Ultra HD) Blade Runner: The Final Cut (4K Ultra HD)
