We’ve got some great new announcements for you today. First up though, Tim has turned in a review of Dan O’Bannon’s The Resurrected on Blu-ray from our friends over at Scream Factory. It’s a fun disc, so do give it a look if you’re of a mind to. Now then...

In announcement news today, Monsieur David Lynch has, his very own bad self, announced the forthcoming Blu-ray and DVD release of Twin Peaks: The Third Season via Twitter today. Look for it on 12/5 from CBS Home Entertainment and Showtime. We expect that they’ll have cooked up some nice extras to go with that tasty slice pie, so watch for further details in the weeks ahead. You can see the cover artwork below. We’ll add the Amazon link as soon as it goes live.

Also on the TV front today, are there any Game of Thrones fans in the house? HBO has just officially set Game of Thrones: The Complete Seventh Season for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 12/12, with the Digital HD version due on 9/25. [Read on here…]

Finally, Random Media will release House by the Lake for release on DVD on 10/10.

Some of you may have read my review of Universal’s E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial: 35th Anniversary Edition 4K Ultra HD release. You may also be interested to know that they’ve launched a Snapchat lens that lets you put your face in Elliot’s red hoodie behind E.T. on their flying bicycle. It’s pretty cute for the kids, so FYI.

And pre-orders are now on for the Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD release of Valerian from Lionsgate, so we’ve re-posted that cover artwork below. Amazon.co.uk has an exclusive 4K/BD/3D version you can order here. We don’t know if the 3D disc will be all-region or not, so buyer beware. But as soon as we know for sure, we’ll let you know.

Before we go, we also wanted to take a moment today to mention the passing of actor Frank Vincent (of Sopranos and Goodfellas fame), comics writer Len Wein (the creator of Wolverine and Swamp Thing), musician Walter Becker (of Steely Dan), and science-fiction writer Jerry Pournelle (The Mote in God’s Eye, The Mercenary, Lucifer’s Hammer). They will all be very much missed.

We’ll leave you with a look at the cover artwork for some of the titles mentioned above, with Amazon.com pre-order links if available...
