Also, here’s a surprise: I began getting reports over the weekend that a few people have found copies of Stranger Things: Season 1 in 4K Ultra HD at Target stores. As you know, the Blu-ray version of the series is a Target exclusive and was release on 10/17 (see my review here). Sure enough, a quick investigation of local Target stores in Orange County, CA revealed no actual copies, but the title is listed in their inventory system with a street date that’s either 11/28 or 12/5 (clerks at various stores reported one of those two dates to me). So... surprise! It looks to be the real deal and we’ve updated our 4K Ultra HD Release List accordingly. You can bet we’ll review the title too, as soon as we can get our hands on it. Thanks to Bits reader Ben G. for the heads-up!

In other news, Paramount has officially set Darren Aronofsky’s Mother! for release on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on 12/19, with the Digital HD version due on 12/5. Extras on the Blu-ray will include 2 featurettes (Mother! The Downward Spiral and The Makeup FX of Mother!). The 4K disc will include both Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio.

Lionsgate has set Good Time for release on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD on 11/21.

And The Cinema Guild will release Jérôme Reybaud’s 4 Days in France on Blu-ray and DVD on 12/19.
