We’ve got a quick post for you all today, but it’s a goodun. It starts with a twofer from our very own Tim Salmons...

First up, he’s just turned in his review of Shout! Factory’s forthcoming Mystery Science Theater 3000: XXXVI on DVD. The set streets on 7/26, so do give it a look.

Next, Tim had the good fortune yesterday to attend RiffTrax’s live Mystery Science Theater 3000 reunion event, which was streamed out to theaters around the world last night from Minneapolis. And it sounds like it was a real blast. You can read his in-depth thoughts on the evening’s festivities here in his latest Dailies column.  [Read on here…]

Rifftrax Live! MST3K Reunion Review

In many ways, it was indeed a long-shot that it would ever happen. [Read on here...]

First up today, I wanted to direct your attention to Michael Coate’s recent History Legacy & Showmanship retrospective column here at The Bits, celebrating the 35th anniversary of the classic James Bond film For Your Eyes Only. We posted it last Friday afternoon and – as Friday posts tend to get overlooked as people head out to enjoy their weekend – I wanted to make sure you all knew about it. It’s well worth your time, so do give it a look here.

Also, we’ve now got the final cover artwork for Warner’s forthcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Man of Steel, and Watchmen: The Ultimate Cut on 4K Ultra HD format. All three titles street on 7/19, and we have word that Batman v Superman will be the first 100GB (3-layer) title on the format here in the States. Here’s a look at the official cover artwork for all three...  [Read on here…]

We’re kicking off the week with a pair of Blu-ray reviews, both of them Twilight Time titles. First up is Jim Hemphill’s take on Ronald Neame’s I Could Go On Singing (1963). We’re also pleased to introduce a new occasional reviewer here at The Bits, the inestimable Jack Jameson, who checks in with a look at John Byrum’s Inserts from 1975. The film stars Richard Dreyfuss. Do give them both a look.

All right, we have a couple of quick additional bits of news and notes for you today...  [Read on here…]

“If [Roger] Moore had ended his Bond tenure with For Your Eyes Only, [the film] would’ve been all the more noteworthy.” — Bill Desowitz

The Digital Bits is pleased to present this retrospective commemorating the 35th anniversary of the release of For Your Eyes Only.

The twelfth cinematic James Bond adventure, it was the fifth to feature Roger Moore as Agent 007, the first of five directed by John Glen, and featured Sheena Easton’s chart-topping and Oscar-nominated title song.  [Read on here...]
