The big release news today is that Warner has just officially set Mad Max: Fury Road for 4K UHD release on 3/1 (SRP $44.95, but the Amazon price is just $29.99). It appears the disc will include the same special features from the previous Blu-ray version. The UHD will also include a Blu-ray copy as well as Digital HD. Tim kicks things off this afternoon with another of his Pick-Ups Blu-ray reviews. This time he’s checking out Scream Factory’s recent double feature release of The Dungeonmaster and The Eliminators. Do give it a look.

In announcement news today, Universal has just officially set Krampus for release on Blu-ray and DVD on 4/26, with the digital HD release due on 4/12. We’re kicking things off today with a new Pick-Ups column from our own Tim Salmons, featuring a review of Scream Factory’s new The Serpent and the Rainbow: Collector’s Edition Blu-ray. It’s well worth your time – both the review and the title itself – so do check it out.

In announcement news today, Paramount has just revealed that it’s re-releasing Top Gun in a new 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Blu-ray on 5/3 (SRP $14.99). Pick-Ups for the Week of February 1, 2016

Welcome back for a new edition of Pick-Ups!

Thank you for joining me. This week I’m going to tackle a few Blu-ray titles from 2015 that we’ve missed here at the site... and don’t worry, not all of it will be horror. I’ve actually got some good movies that were released last year for you to check out. I thought I’d also let you know that I’m working on a column that’s Lord of the Rings related. I’m not sure when I’ll have that up for you, but hopefully sometime soon.  [Read on here...]

Welcome back to a new edition of Pick-Ups!

Thanks for joining me this week for a new edition of Scream Factory Catch-Up, where I attempt to get ahead on some of Scream Factory’s Blu-ray releases. They release content so frequently that it’s sometimes difficult to keep up with it all (not that I’m complaining).  [Read on here...]

We’re starting things today with a new Pick-Ups column from our own Tim Salmons, featuring a review of Scream Factory’s The Car on Blu-ray Disc. Tim will be posting new “catch-up” Scream and Shout BD reviews (and more) all week, so do check them out.

First up today, people who have pre-ordered Samsung’s first 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player (the UBDK8500) on Amazon and Best Buy are reporting that they’re getting notices that the player will ship on 2/12 or 2/21, as opposed to 3/1. So it’s possible that discs may ship earlier as well. We’ll let you know as we hear updates. [Read on here…]
