Slow news day today, but we do have a couple of things for you...
First, Universal has revealed a few more catalog titles coming to Blu-ray on 7/1, including Bring It On, Cry Baby, Kindergarten Cop and The Little Rascals.
Universal has also set Non-Stop, starring Liam Neeson, for Blu-ray Combo and DVD release on 6/10. Does anyone else keep mixing this film up with 3 Days to Kill, or is it just me? “Old Guys Kicking Ass” seems to be a real growth genre these days. [Read on here…]

Our own Adam Jahnke has turned in his weekly installment of Burnt Offerings: MOD DVD in which he looks at this week’s latest small batch offerings from the Warner Archive and the 20th Century Fox Cinema Archives. Fans of Rick Ocasek and The Cars will be pretty happy I think. Enjoy!
Also today, Tim Salmons has given Criterion’s new release of Alfred Hitchcock’s Foreign Correspondent (1940) a review on Blu-ray (Dual-Format). Classic film enthusiasts should be quite pleased. [Read on here...]

Also today, Warner Home Video has announced another Blu-ray version of Woodstock: 3 Days of Peace and Music, specifically a new 40th Anniversary Limited Edition Revisited box set on 7/29 (SRP $39.96) that includes everything from the previous (but apparently not truly) Ultimate Collector’s Edition and adds new and unseen concert footage from Jefferson Airplane, Joan Baez, Santana, The Who, and more, as well as new swag (including a reproduction of the original Woodstock Festival tickets and vintage articles from Life Magazine and The New York Times). All right, we’re closing out the week with a new Blu-ray review and bit of additional announcement news.
First, though, just wanted to say thanks for your patience over the last few days. If I haven’t seemed quite as on top of posting new reviews and other content, it’s because we had a visitor here. You’ll recall that a long time Bits staffer, and our very dear friend, Barrie Maxwell passed away a couple of years ago. We had the pleasure of a visit this past week with his wife Sue. She came to town for the TCM Classic Film Festival, which is something that she and Barrie had wanted to do together but never got the chance to, and then she came down to Orange County and stayed with Sarah and me for a few days. We watched lots of movies, took her down to the beach, and just had a great time. She sends her best to all of you Bits readers, and wanted you to know how much Barrie appreciated that you enjoyed his writings on classic films here at The Bits and also hearing from you via e-mail.
