Now then, in announcement news today, the big news is that Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and DC Studios have officially set James Gunn’s Superman (2025) for Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD release on 9/23, with the Digital release due later this week on 8/15. [Read on here...]

Tim’s review of Charles Walters’ Technicolor classic High Society (1956) in 4K Ultra HD from the Warner Archive Collection.

Stephen’s look at Mark Robson’s Earthquake (1974) in 4K Ultra HD Steelbook from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.

And Stuart’s take on the Audie Murphy Collection V box set from Kino Lorber Studio Classics, which includes Jesse Hibbs’ Walk the Proud Land (1956), Harry Keller’s Seven Ways to Sundown (1960), and Robert G. Springsteen’s Bullet for a Badman (1964) on Blu-ray.

In terms of catching up with more recent title announcements today, let’s start with the big news first: Director Kevin Smith revealed in his Hall H panel on Saturday night down at San Diego Comic-Con that Lionsgate is going to be releasing his newly-remastered Dogma (1999) on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD later this year! (You can watch video of Smith confirming this here on X.) The street date is TBA, but our sources say there will lots of great new extras and there should be both an exclusive 4K Steelbook version from Lionsgate Limited as well as a wide-release 4K SKU. Tim has shared his thoughts on Steve Miner’s Friday the 13th: Part II (1981) in 4K Ultra HD from the Paramount Scares: Volume 2 box set.

He’s also taken an in-depth look at Adam Marcus’ Jason Goes to Hell (1993) in 4K Ultra HD from New Line via Arrow Video.

In announcement news today, Madman Entertainment in Australia is releasing both Peter Faiman’s Crocodile Dundee: The Encore Cut (1986) and John Cornell’s Crocodile Dundee II (1988) in 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray on 7/9.

The company already has six recent 4K Ultra HD titles available, including Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai (1954), Sean Baker’s Anora (2024), Richard Kelly’s Donnie Darko: 20th Anniversary Edition (2001), Coralie Fargeat’s The Substance (2024), and Bong Joon Ho’s Parasite (2019).

A24’s online shop is now taking pre-orders on Isaiah Saxon’s The Legend of Ochi (2025) on Blu-ray. The title is expected to ship in July (street date TBA). [Read on here...]

My take on Chris Sanders’ stunning The Wild Robot (2024) in 4K Ultra HD from DreamWorks Animation.

Stephen’s look at the Disney+ streaming series Hawkeye: The Complete First Season (2021) in 4K Ultra HD Steelbook from Marvel.

And Tim’s review of Lau Kar-leung’s Return to the 36th Chamber (1980) on Blu-ray from Arrow’s excellent Shawscope: Volume Two box set.

Also, just to let you guys know, we have a ton of disc reviews in the works for the coming weeks. I myself have just spent the entire weekend reviewing disc, including The Wild Robot (linked above) but also the new Interstellar: 10th Anniversary Release, Ahsoka, Lost Horizon, and more. Now then... the big news today is that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has officially set Kelly Marcel’s Venom 3: The Last Dance for Blu-ray, DVD, 4K Ultra HD, and 4K Steelbook on 2/21. The 4K SKUs will feature Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio. Extras will include a host of video-based features as follows: Deleted & Extended Scenes, Venomous Laughs: Outtakes & Bloopers, Bonded in Chaos: Tom Hardy, Author of Mayhem: From Writer to Director, Venom’s Inner Circle, Venom Unleashed: The Action & Stunts, Select Scene PreVis, One Last Dance – Tom Morello x Grandson Music Video, Savor the Last Bite: The Venom Legacy, and Brock Bottom: Mrs. Chen Interview.
