All right, this morning’s post is a quick one, but we do have some interesting announcements and street date confirmations for you today…

First up, 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has set Mistress America for release on 12/1, followed by Transporter: Refueled on 12/8, Fantastic Four on 12/15, and Hitman: Agent 47 on 12/29, all on both Blu-ray and DVD.  [Read on here…]

Warner Home Video, meanwhile, has set Pan for Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray and DVD release on 12/22, along with Black Mass on BD and DVD that same day. They’ve also set The Intern to follow on BD and DVD on 12/29.

CBS (via Paramount) will release Zoo: Season One on both formats on 12/1, followed by Extant: The Second Season on both formats BD and DVD on 12/15.

And Lionsgate will release Mississippi Grind on Blu-ray and DVD on 12/1.

Back to Fox for a moment: Based on a recent Facebook posting (see the image above left there and at this link), it appears that 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment is FINALLY teasing the long-awaited BD release of James Cameron’s True Lies. No dates are yet announced, but I would definitely say to stay tuned on this one. Here’s an interesting thought: What if Fox is getting ready to release True Lies on BOTH Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray at the same time? That’s just speculation on my part, of course, but it would explain why they’ve waited so long on the title. We’ll see.

In other news, Shout! Factory tells me that they expect to have both replacement discs for their Army of Darkness: Collector’s Edition Blu-ray manufactured and ready to ship by 11/30. So watch for mailing announcements in early later this month and early next (and click here to request your replacement copies if you haven’t already).

Finally this morning, we were pleasantly surprised on Saturday morning to see that Sir Ian McKellen posted links to our review of Mr. Holmes on Blu-ray on his Facebook and Twitter pages! Pretty cool.

We’ll leave you today with a look at more new Blu-ray cover artwork including many of the titles mentioned above, complete with Amazon.com pre-order links if available…

Pan (Blu-ray 3D)    Pan (Blu-ray Disc)    Fantastic 4 (Blu-ray Disc)

Extant: The Second Season (Blu-ray Disc)    Transporter Refueled (Blu-ray Disc)    Hitman: Agent 47 (Blu-ray Disc)

Back tomorrow early morning with more news, plus a new Michael Coate column too. Stay tuned…
