We’re closing out the week with a little more good new release information...

First of all, here’s some great news: I’ve been trying for years now to get Shout! Factory to license and release Universal’s The Black Sheep Squadron on DVD. As fans of the classic 1970s TV series will know, Universal planned to release the series in three volumes on DVD, but only the first two ever came out here in the States (the final volume was available in France only). Well, now it looks like Shout! is indeed releasing Baa Baa Black Sheep: The Black Sheep Squadron on DVD on 2/23 (SRP $19.97)! You can see the pre-order listing here on Amazon. We don’t know if this is the first of multiple volumes or if indeed it’s the complete series. But I think we can safely assume that the complete series IS finally being released on DVD here in the States. Which pleases me right down to the ground.  [Read on here…]

Speaking of Shout, the company is also releasing One & Two on Blu-ray and DVD on 12/8 with IFC Midnight.

Also today... Lionsgate has officially set Sicario for Blu-ray and DVD release on 1/5 (SRP $39.99 and $29.95), with the digital release due on 12/22. Extras will include 4 featurettes (Stepping into Darkness: The Visual Design of Sicario, Blunt, Brolin & Benicio: Portraying the Characters of Sicario, Battle Zone: The Origins of Sicario, and A Pulse from the Desert: The Score of Sicario).

Lionsgate has also set Heist for Blu-ray and DVD release on 12/29, including audio commentary (with director Scott Mann, actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and writer Max S. Adams), cast and crew interviews, deleted/extended scenes, and The Making of Heist featurette.

And Lionsgate has set The Condemned 2 to follow on BD and DVD on 1/19.

Meanwhile, Eureka Entertainment has set The Ninja Trilogy for UK Blu-ray/DVD release on 1/18, including Enter the Ninja, Revenge of the Ninja, and Ninja III: The Domination. Eureka is also releasing King Hu’s A Touch of Zen on BD & DVD on 1/25. This is the film that inspired Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Note that these titles are BD Region B/DVD Region 2 PAL format, meant for the UK only. So if you mean to import them, make sure you have the appropriate playback capability.

Moving on, Virgil Films has set Lucky for DVD release on 12/8, followed by Unleashed! A Dog Dancing Story on DVD on 12/15.

Green Apple Entertainment is releasing Susie’s Hope on DVD on 1/5.

Warner Home Video is releasing CHiPs: The Complete Fourth Season on DVD on 3/15/16, including all 21 episodes.

Big Screen Entertainment has set Mosquito-Man for DVD release on 12/22.

Magnolia will release Experimenter on Blu-ray and DVD on 1/5.

And Cinedigm will release Anton Corbijn’s Life on digital and VOD only on 12/4.

And that’s all for now. Back on Monday with more. Stay tuned...
