All right, I’m working on more reviews today and a couple of other behind-the-post items here at The Bits, so today’s post will be a quick one. But...

As promised, I posted my reviews of Paramount’s Forrest Gump and Terminator Genisys in 4K Ultra HD on Friday night, so those are available this morning in case you missed them.

Up on deck for review next in 4K are A Wrinkle in Time, Fury, Escape Plan, and Game of Thrones: Season One (possibly not in that order), so be sure to watch for them.

Also, Tim will have a new Dailies column for you here at the site tomorrow.

The big news today is that Lionsgate has just announced that their Terminator 2: Judgment Day 4K Ultra HD is going to be re-released on 7/17 in both regular and long-delayed Endo Arm packaging. [Read on here...]

Before you start asking me on social media, know I’ve already asked the studio A) if this new release corrects the terrible de-grained presentation on the previous release, and B) if there will be any kind of exchange program for those who have that first disc. You guys will know here as soon as I do. Watch my Twitter and Facebook feeds too, as that’s probably the first place I’ll post any news when it comes in. We’ve updated the 4K Ultra HD Release List here at The Bits accordingly.

Also today, Scream Factory has announced that they’re working on a new Blu-ray release of Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (1994) set to street this fall. Additional details are here and also TBA.

It looks like Warner Archive’s Batman: The Complete Animated Series will street on Blu-ray sometime in September, based on a pre-order listing on Amazon.fr. We strongly suspect the studio will make a big deal out of the announcement at Comic-Con in San Diego, so stay tuned.

Readers have been asking if Paramount’s Mission: Impossible films in 4K will be available in a box set. It looks like Zavvi is going to have one, so the answer may be singles only here in the States and a box set in the UK for now.

And finally this morning, Kino Lorber has announced that they’re going to be releasing Alex Cox’s Straight to Hell (1986) on Blu-ray and DVD on 8/28, mastered from a 2K restoration and with extras. Also newly-revealed to be coming from Kino in August are: The Day After (1983), Cradle Will Rock (1999), Desecration (1999 – from Code Red), and Queen of the Stardust Ballroom (1975 – from Scorpion Releasing) on 8/7, Born Yesterday (1993), Hope Springs (2003), Smashing Time (1967), and The Great Smokey Roadblock (1977 – from Code Red) on 8/14, Deep Rising (1998) and Leonor (1975) on 8/21, and Country (1984) and A Thousand Acres (1997) on 8/28.

Here’s a look at the cover artwork for a few of these. Amazon pre-order links will be added as they become available...

Terminator 2: Judgment Day (4K Ultra HD) Deep Rising (Blu-ray Disc) The Day After (Blu-ray Disc)

Terminator 2: Judgment Day Endo Arm (4K Ultra HD)

Stay tuned...
