Now then, the big news today is that the Criterion Collection has just revealed its complete September slate of Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD titles, and it’s a whopper!
In addition to Wes Anderson’s already announced The French Dispatch of the Liberty, Kansas Evening Sun (2021) (Spine #1282 – 4K + Blu-ray and Blu-ray), Isle of Dogs (2018) (Spine #1281 – 4K + Blu-ray and Blu-ray), and The Wes Anderson Archive: Ten Films, Twenty-Five Years box set (4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray) which are all due on 9/30, look for Akira Kurosawa’s High and Low (1963) (Spine #24 – 4K + Blu-ray) on 9/9, Lizzie Borden’s Born in Flames (1983) (Spine #1277 – Blu-ray) on 9/16, Rob Reiner’s This Is Spinal Tap (1984) (Spine #12 – 4K+Blu-ray and Blu-ray) on 9/16, and Gints Zilbalodis’ animated Flow (2024) (Spine #1278 – 4K+ Blu-ray and Blu-ray) and Jacques Audiard’s The Beat That My Heart Skipped (2005) (Spine #1280 – Blu-ray) and Read My Lips (2001) (Spine #1279 – 4K + Blu-ray and Blu-ray) on 9/23.
Of these 4K editions, the Wes Anderson titles, Read My Lips, and This Is Spinal Tap will all have Dolby Vision HDR (but not Flow or High and Low). You can read more about all of these here on the Criterion website.

Also today, Kino Lorber Studio Classics has revealed that Miramax’s Four Rooms (1995) anthology film is coming soon on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray, featuring the work of Allison Anders, Alexandre Rockwell, Robert Rodriguez, and Quentin Tarantino.
In addition, KLSC has officially set Steve Barron’s Coneheads (1993) for 4K Ultra HD release on 8/19.
And finally, for you TV on Blu-ray fans, Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment and DC are releasing Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman – The Complete Series as a 20-disc Blu-ray box set on 7/8. Here’s what that looks like…
